I've fallen behind- here are challenges 12, 13, & 14

I can't believe that I have fallen this far behind. I can honestly say there has nothing great been going on here to really distract me, but I have negelected this blog for over 3 weeks now.
So here we go..... Challenge 12 - Change of Season

Well... it just started to change here. Nothing great except rain really. That is the sucky part of fall and spring here in the Northeast.

Now Challenge 13- Halloween
Here we go! I've got photos of Halloween for you! Some of DJ, Shannon, Joseph and I carving our pumpkins. And then there are a few of Shannon all dressed up. She was the only one who really dressed here.

This weeks Challenge 14- Self-Portrait
I've got one for you. This is so far my favorite self portrait. I took this photo a while ago right after coloring my hair. I just love everything about this photo. You are right Heather, we are hardly ever in a photo.

So now I'm all caught up. Going to check out the self portraits!

Challenge #10- Change your Perspective

Well, I fell behind. I can't believe it. Things were a little crazy here with visitors from out of state, but I think I got a few photo's for you from when I went into NYC the other day with my sister.
The first one is of St. Patricks Cathedral. OMG, it is just beautiful and breathtaking inside!
This one is from on "Top of the Rock" at Rockefeller Center and that is the Statue of Liberty in the water near the left side.
This is another photo from Top of the Rock and it is Central Park, the Hudson River is in there also. I used my zoom for this.
And this one is of Time Square.

Ok... here is mine. It's no secret that I love this one sunset photo that I have . I only posted it as my favorite a few weeks ago. So here it is again and a few others..

Also, here is a layout that I did with 2 sunset photos.

Plus..... I did this cover for a CJ Album that I was doing (which ended up not being returned, which is another story).

ok.. I'm going to see about taking a few more this weekend. I will post them if I do.

Hope everyone has a terrific weekend.

Challenge #8 -Miksang

Well,,,, I have to tell you that I really didn't get this style of photography. I think I was not really in the right frame of mind while I did all that reading and watched the video. But here is what I got. I don't know if it is what we were suppose to do. I think I really need a lot of help in this area. lol

Favorite.....

hmmmmm.... I think its hard to just pick one favorite photo, but if I had to it would be this one of the sunset. I'd have to say it is just one of the most beautiful shots that I've taken. The conditions were just perfect that evening. I think I took about 30 photos of the sunset and the ocean waves.

Challenge # 6- SUMMER

The challenge was to take photos of what summer means to you. Well with me... Summer means so many things.

The beginning of summer is usually started off with my dd Shannon's Birthday!

Then you usually have GRADUATIONS!

Then add ds Josephs Birthday!

And what would summer be without hitting the beach or getting out on the boat?

Enjoy your summer!

Challenge #5- Transportation

Ok, this one is pretty easy for me. I love to take photos of cars, trucks, planes, helicopters, and of course motorcycles!
Here are just a few of my photos that I already had on hand. I am going to take a few more shots this week and add them.
This first photo is of my dh's motorcyle. I love the colors on this bike.
The next few photo's were taken at an air & war show that me and my dh went to back in October. It was really nice. They had a lot of old planes, helicopters (some that are still used in combat today), and motorcyles. Plus, they had army jeeps and trucks there as well. This plane was one of my favorites there that day!
Now this photo was taken at a car show that we went to in December. Thats Joseph standing next to it.

I hope to take some more pictures during the week and get them posted. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Challenge # 4- Macro (Zoom IN)

This one was very fun. I don't usually use the Macro function on my camera, basically because I really don't see a difference in using and not. I think I'm weird. Well, here are my photos for this challenge.

This first photo has the shells that I found at the beach on Friday.

My next photos are right from my front yard! This is some plant in the front (don't ask, not a gardener) that looked real nice on Sunday so I started snapping. Just as I started.... I noticed that a bumble bee started to hoovering around the flowers I guess pollenating. So I started to see if I could get some good photos of him. Here's what I got.

I had a lot of fun with this one. I'm going to try to use that Macro setting more and see what developes!

Challenge #3-Landscapes

I had a lot of fun with this. I really like to take photos of landscapes or, are these called oceanscapes, when I get a chance. Here are a few that I already had. I know that I have a ton of great photos from Las Vegas but can't seem to find the folder they are in. I'll keep looking and post them later on. This photo was taken from our boat in the State Channel.

Here we have a bridge that we have to go under (while in the boat) to get to Captree State Channel. Here is the Robert Moses Lighthouse . The fog was rolling in that day and this was just beautiful. To be honest with you... I'm not really sure which bridge this is. We were going Upstate for an RC airplane show/exhibit.I'll add some more later on when I can find them. Can't wait to see everyones photos.

Signs

This weeks Challenge was to photograph signs. I will take pictures of signs especially when I'm on vacation. On the normal everyday level, I wouldn't. Here are some signs that are right around my house.

This stop sign is about 200 feet from my front door.

The children at play sign is just up the block.

The Dead End sign is right on the corner .

The Zahn's Park is in walking distance and this was a great park when my kids were little I use to take them there all the time.

Hollywood video. Again walking distance. ds Joseph spends alot of time there.

And this Good Day Fence sign is just around the corner from my house. I took this photo from the car (notice the window I forgot to put all the way down) as I was driving past the sign. Can't wait for this weeks challenge. Have a great weekend.

Photo Challenge Week 1

This is for a group that Heather started last week and well , as usual, I'm behind! But I did manage to get last weeks challenge done. The challenge was to take a photo(s) of a flower(s).

Here is mine. This bush is right outside my back door. To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not really sure what the heck it is (I don't like gardening) but it could be either a Hydrangea or a Rhododendron. Your guess is as good as mine. The first photo shows the flower right before its starting to really blossom.

This second photo is a whole group of flowers in full bloom.

And this last photo is of 2 perfect blossoms.

I had a lot of fun taking these for the challenge. Its not something that I would normally take photos of. It was a big change for me. Now I need to get started with week 2's challenge---Signs!
